Martian MSDHL

ORR – Melrose led by skippers 2 goals and 1 assist squeeked by Masco 6-5. Mitchell Forbes scored 2 goals and added an assist in the loosing cause.Th Chiefs outskated a gritty Stoneham team by a score of 4-1. Marc Gallant scored for Stoneham while Seth Murray had 2 goals for the Chiefs. Windham and Wilmington tied 2-2 to round out this weeks action.

Bourque –Tewksbury continued to lead the Bourque division with a 5-3 win over Londonderry, N reading and westford skated to a 2-2 tie, While Haverhill continues to stay on Tewksbury's heals with a 3-0 blanking of Acton Boxboro. Haverhil and Tewksbury will square off in week 12 with what could determine who will be seeded first in the playoffs.

Buyck –Triton continues to creep up the standings with a 5-3 win over Oyster River. Jeff Cowell  and Jack Norton chipped in with 2 goals to pace Triton. while Peter Christie kept Oyster River in it to the end with his 2 goals, Dracut slipped into first place with a 5-3 win over Wakefield, Bedford kept on the heels of Dracut with a 3-2 hard fought win over Portsmouth.Arlington nipped Lowell 1-0 to round out this weeks action.

Hit from Behind: If a player hits another player from behind in a game, that player will receive a 3 minute major penalty. This penalty will also include a player who hits another player from behind as a result of a last minute turn by the offensive player. The ownership of the action falls clearly on the player without the puck and he/she must be responsible for his/her actions. If the player who is hurt is injured on the play a misconduct is added to the infraction. A game ejection is handed out if you feel this hit was completely deliberate and the player is hurt on the ice.

Targeted Hit to the Head - A major penalty will be awarded to a player who targets his hit to another players head. A 3 minute major penalty will be awarded to the defensive player who targets the head during a hit to the opposing player. A non targeted hit to the head, which means a player comes in contact with the opposing player's head, but is not considered a targeted hit will result in a minor, 1:30 min, penalty. The ownership of the action falls clearly on the player without the puck and he/she must be responsible for his/her actions.

Any new organizations wishing to enter the MSDHL for the 2011-12 season can download the team registration document and send in your application. Space is limited and all applications will be on a first come first serve basis.

EACH WEEK MICHAUD MITSUBISHI WILL  AWARD THE WINNING PICTURE A FREE OIL CHANGE AT MICHAUD MITSUBISHI. EACH WEEK THE MSDHL WILL CHOOSE ONE LUCKY WINNER. THE WINING PHOTO WILL BE FROM CHOSEN FROM PICTURES TAKEN AT EACH WEEKS MIIDDLE SCHOOL HOCKEY LEAGUE ACTION. THE PICTURES MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 5 PM ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THE WINNING PICTURE WILL BE UPLOADED ONTO THE MSDHL HOME PAGE FOR DISPLAY ON THURSDAY.
